I See General Buhari As The Next Nigerian President, Obasanjo Predicts

Former Nigeria President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has predicted that the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari will be the next Nigerian President which why those who are afraid of him are creating so many obstacles on his way, Saying “a general is always a general. Obasanjo, who was reacting to the controversies generated over the school certificate of General Buhar said: “I see Buhari as the next President and Jonathan is aware of that, and that is the reason they are hitting him everywhere to put confusion in his camp. But a General is always a General… “ The former President said the truth of the matter is that Jonathan is aware that Buhari is qualified to contest for President election but that “some hawks with Jonathan do not want him to contest because they believed that he will win and come for them. “The issue (of Buhari’s certificate) came up in 2007, and we investigated and found out that his WASEC is with the military and that was why he was allowed to contest in 2007. Buhari cannot listen to anyone about his certificates because as a General of Nigeria Army, he will speak when he chooses, not by Femi Fani Kayode and Okupe asking him. Fayose and other corrupt people including Kashamu do not want Buhari because of his anti-corruption slogan. “Even Jonathan did not finish his PhD course but when it was presented we stated that, it does not matter but many people do not know because it was PDP thing.

MARRIED OR NOT, YOU SHOULD READ THIS ...

MARRIED OR NOT, YOU SHOULD READ THIS ...
“When I got home that night as my wife served dinner,
I held her hand and said, I’ve got something to tell you.
She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt
in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn’t know how to open my mouth. But I
had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a
divorce. I raised the topic calmly. She didn’t seem to be
annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly,
why?
I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw
away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a
man! That night, we didn’t talk to each other. She was
weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had
happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her
a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Jane. I
didn’t love her anymore. I just pitied her!
With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce
agreement which stated that she could own our house,
our car, and 30% stake of my company. She glanced at
it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had
spent ten years of her life with me had become a
stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources
and energy but I could not take back what I had said for
I loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front
of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me
her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of
divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks
seemed to be firmer and clearer now.
The next day, I came back home very late and found
her writing something at the table. I didn’t have supper
but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast
because I was tired after an eventful day with Jane.
When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing.
I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep
again.
In the morning she presented her divorce conditions:
she didn’t want anything from me, but needed a
month’s notice before the divorce. She requested that
in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a
life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had
his exams in a month’s time and she didn’t want to
disrupt him with our broken marriage.
This was agreeable to me. But she had something
more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her
into out bridal room on our wedding day. She
requested that every day for the month’s duration I
carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever
morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make
our last days together bearable I accepted her odd
request.
I told Jane about my wife’s divorce conditions. . She
laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter
what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she
said scornfully.
My wife and I hadn’t had any body contact since my
divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I
carried her out on the first day, we both appeared
clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding
mommy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of
pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to
the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my
arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don’t tell our
son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat
upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to
wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.
On the second day, both of us acted much more easily.
She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of
her blouse. I realized that I hadn’t looked at this woman
carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young
any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her
hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on
her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.
On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of
intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given
ten years of her life to me. On the fifth and sixth day, I
realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I
didn’t tell Jane about this. It became easier to carry her
as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout
made me stronger.
She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried
on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable
one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown
bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin,
that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.
Suddenly it hit me… she had buried so much pain and
bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out
and touched her head.
Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it’s time
to carry mom out. To him, seeing his father carrying
his mother out had become an essential part of his life.
My wife gestured to our son to come closer and
hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I
was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I
then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom,
through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand
surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her
body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.
But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last
day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a
step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and
said, I hadn’t noticed that our life lacked intimacy. I
drove to office…. jumped out of the car swiftly without
locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me
change my mind…I walked upstairs. Jane opened the
door and I said to her, Sorry, Jane, I do not want the
divorce anymore.
She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my
forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her
hand off my head. Sorry, Jane, I said, I won’t divorce.
My marriage life was boring probably because she and
I didn’t value the details of our lives, not because we
didn’t love each other anymore. Now I realize that since
I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am
supposed to hold her until death do us apart. Jane
seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap
and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I
walked downstairs and drove away. At the floral shop
on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife.
The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I
smiled and wrote, I’ll carry you out every morning until
death do us apart.
That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a
smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in
the bed -dead. My wife had been fighting CANCER for
months and I was so busy with Jane to even notice. She
knew that she would die soon and she wanted to save
me from the whatever negative reaction from our son,
in case we push through with the divorce.— At least, in
the eyes of our son—- I’m a loving husband….
The small details of your lives are what really matter in
a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property,
the money in the bank. These create an environment
conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in
themselves.
So find time to be your spouse’s friend and do those
little things for each other that build intimacy. If you
are not in a relationship now, remember this for the
second (or third) time around. It's never too late.
If you don’t share this, nothing will happen to you.
If you do, you just might save a marriage. Many of life’s
failures are people who did not realize how close they
were to success when they gave up

Breaking News!!! Katsina College releases Buhari’s WASC results

Government College, formerly Provincial Secondary
School, Katsina, which Muhammadu Buhari, the All
Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate,
graduated from in 1961, has released Mr. Buhari’s
secondary school certificate examination results.
The results, obtained exclusively by PREMIUM TIMES
Wednesday, confirm Mr. Buhari’s claim that he
undertook the University of Cambridge West African
School Certificate Examinations and obtained five
credits in English Language, Geography, Hausa
Language, History, and Health Science.
PREMIUM TIMES obtained the computer printout
from Cambridge University as well as a statement of
result, signed by the current principal of Katsina
College, dated January 21, 2015.
The results show that Mr. Buhari, a former military
head of state, failed in Mathematics and Woodwork,
and had a pass in Literature in English.
The examination centre number was 8280 while Mr.
Buhari’s candidate number was 002.
The statement of results is printed on the letter head
paper of the Katsina State Ministry of Education, and
it shows that the examination took place in 1961.
The Cambridge print out also shows the result of 17
other candidates at the centre, including Shehu
Yar’adua, a former Chief of Staff, Supreme
Headquarters.
Controversy over Mr. Buhari’s result escalated
Tuesday after the Nigerian Army, which had earlier
admitted to having a copies of his certificate,
reversed itself saying it could not even attest to the
details listed in his records.
The spokesperson of the Army, Olajide Laleye, said
“Neither the original copy, certified true copy (CTC)
nor statement of result of Major-.Gen. Mohammadu
Buhari‘s WASC result is in his personal file.”
He said while it is the practice in the Nigerian Army
that before candidates are shortlisted for
commissioning into the officers’ cadre of the service,
the selection board verifies the original copies of
credentials as presented, “There is no available
record to show that this process was followed in the
1960s.”
The military’s comments came after the retired
general had said that his lost copies of results were
with the Army, an explanation he gave ahead of elections February 14.

Ebola outbreak: final vaccine trials to start this month or next, WHO says

HEALTHSierra Leone plans to start vaccine trials in the second half of January If experimental Ebola vaccines prove effective, the shots will be available for deployment in a few months. (Steve Parsons/Associated Press) Final-stage trials of experimental Ebola vaccines will begin in January or February in the worst-hit West African countries as scientists and drugmakers race to block the deadly disease, the World Health Organization said on Thursday. If effective, the shots will be available for deployment a few months later. Nearly 90 experts from vaccine manufacturers, regulatory agencies and health ministries met at WHO headquarters to review data from initial safety trials and finalize plans for pivotal Phase III clinical trials in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. "It is my understanding that no major safety signals have been reported to date," WHO director-general Margaret Chan told the talks in opening remarks. "We all want the momentum and sense of urgency to continue," she said. "Too many health care workers are still getting infected, including nationals and doctors and nurses from foreign medical teams." Ebola outbreak: Canadian Forces team on tough mission 'treating something you can't see' Tracking the spread of the deadly virus What you need to know The meeting is discussing three different large-scale clinical trial designs using the most advanced vaccines to fight a disease that has killed more than 8,000 people in the past year.. Two vaccines from GlaxoSmithKline and another from a collaboration between NewLink Genetics and Merck started initial clinical testing in the autumn. A third one from Johnson & Johnson and Bavarian Nordic has just reached the first-in-human testing stage. Officials from GSK, Merck and J&J all addressed the closed-door meeting. In addition, officials heard from developers of earlier-stage vaccines, including U.S.-based Novavax and Russia's Influenza Research Institute. The talks also assessed the funding situation, after the GAVI global vaccines alliance said last month it was committing up to $300 million US to buy Ebola shots. Ebola outbreak: Quarantine 'just like a jail' in Sierra Leone Sierra Leone, the country worst affected by Ebola, plans to start vaccine trials in the second half of January, Samuel Kargbo of its health ministry told Reuters Television on the sidelines of the Geneva talks. Ebola continues to spread in the Liberian capital of Monrovia, with cases scattered throughout the city, making it hard to identify distinct chains of transmission, Chan said. Many believe that the virus has moved from the cities into extremely remote rural areas, making

How To Prepare Your Dating Relationship For Marriage

How To Prepare Your Dating Relationship For Marriage Not all dating relationships lead to marriage. Those that do, however, need to apply the right tools early on. We don’t ever want to arrive in a marriage not ready to be successful in love. There’s something like a reality check that happens when you transform your boyfriend/girlfriend status to that of husband and wife. People often say they didn’t expect what usually happens after marriage. The amount of effort required is often underestimated. Yes, things will change; it gets real. Life happens and you have to find a way to navigate through the ups and downs together. We all must remember, marriage is something you have to prepare for. It is usually obvious when a relationship has the stamina to move from one phase to the next. The feelings are usually a lot deeper and both partners can picture a future together. From this point on, there are a few other ideas to put into practice. Nothing hurts a marriage more than unrealistic expectations. Remember, dating should be fun, but it’s also an opportunity to really get to know one another. Use this dating time to ask questions as well as share what really makes you tick. It’s important to understand flaws and all. In regards to flaws, be accepting. Also, know what you can tolerate. Think, what if it never changes, will I be ok. You should also look for opportunities to learn from other couples. Even though you’re dating, It’s not too early to join or participate in activities hosted by marriage ministries and groups. Read resources that teach marriage related principles. Communicating about marriage is also important. Uncover what you think you both might be like as spouses and together create a vision for your marriage. Talk future goals, and dreams. Remember to also save a little something for marriage. The energy, and creativity in the bedroom, to be specific. Make sure once you’re married that excitement and passion never dies. Being realistic and not thinking marriage is a fairy tale has helped quite a few couples as well. Nothing hurts a marriage more than unrealistic expectations. Some days will be more challenging than others, but how you handle them is key. Put great habits into place, starting now, by being solution focused. Know that you’re thinking for two when you make decisions for your relationship, and plan accordingly. In addition to enjoying the dating portion of your relationship, the future isn’t that far away and should be considered once you’re with Mr. or Ms. Right.

Ogonis Endorsing Buhari

The four local government areas of Ogoni ethnic nationality in Rivers State on Thursday unanimously pledged their support in next month’s presidential election to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.Muhammadu Buhari with Ogoni leaders
The Eleme, Tai, Gokana and Khana area declared their position during a brief ceremony to welcome General Buhari and other top APC officials to Sakpenwa, headquarters of Tai Local Government Area.

In a speech, the chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Majesty King G. N. Gininwa, expressed appreciation to General Buhari for accepting to visit Ogoni land.

“Ogonis have cried a lot,” he told the former Head of State.  “We want a redeemer and we believe you are the one.”

In another address, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, who represents the Rivers South East Senatorial District, declared support for Buhari on behalf of the Ogoni people.
He drew attention to the impact of oil exploration and exploitation that has caused colossal degradation of Ogoniland, as a major contributor in oil production since 1958, and expressed regret that his people have been rewarded with devastated environment while their traditional occupation of fishing and farming are becoming extinct.

“Three and half years after the federal government sponsored UNEP report on Ogoni soil, no remedial effort have been made to address the damage outlined in the report despite the promise of the late President Yar’Adua’s government to implement the content unconditionally”.

He further recalled that three years ago, the government got a report that water in Ogoniland is contaminated with benzene, a known carcinogen, at levels of 900 times above the World Health Organization (WHO) guideline.

“As a deprived people, we have consistently placed in the domains of all governments, the Ogoni Bill of Rights (OBR) that seeks for equal representation of Ogonis in the affairs of the nation.

Senator Abe liked Buhari to Abraham Lincoln, stressing that the General’s era to serve and change Nigeria in line with the aspirations of its founding fathers has come, and that his people have decided to be part of history.
“As Ogonis, we know you have demonstrated an unimpeachable pedigree, high level of discipline, incorruptible and development-oriented leadership qualities as evident in your days in office as Head of States,” he said.

“Nigeria was for the first time, railroaded on the part of discipline and national integrity.  Corruption took a back seat in national affairs and people learnt to submit to the processes of discipline which your administration enacted”.

And because Buhari considered Ogoniland to be a priority in the kick-off of his your national campaign tour, Senator Abe said the Ogonis will reciprocate the golden gesture and massively pool their votes to ensure that he emerges the President and Commander-in-Chief in May 2015.

Also speaking on the occasion, Rivers State Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who also doubles as the Director-General of Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation, called on the Ogonis not to be intimidated by the use of military by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the elections.

Urging the people to vote for the APC at all levels during the general elections, Amaechi, who is also the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, said, “If you vote for PDP Ogoni Kingdom will die…”
He noted that there is no strong governor coming on the side of PDP.  “Those characters we have on the other side are thieves….Ask them…Nyesom Wike was my Chief of Staff, I have been speaker for eight years…show me the house that I have…speaker eight years, governor eight years…"

Also speaking on the environmental degradation of Ogoniland, Governor Amaechi said, “When UNEP came here, when they came to Nigeria to do a study of environmental crisis in Ogoniland, you people didn’t want them. True for false?  You didn’t want them… forget now that the report is favourable.  I addressed rallies in Ogoni to allow them to come in… and I said if you don’t trust Shell, if you don’t trust the Federal Government, don’t you trust me? And you said you trust me.

“As your governor I was running into the bush with Mike, we were chasing people, we were chasing criminals, there were attempts to kidnap (Mike) and other white people, but we maintained our desire to find solution to Ogoni crisis.  And when they came up with the report, I met with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as governor of Rivers State.  And I said to the President you see this report, please implement it for the Ogoni people, in fact….If nothing else the One billion dollars that they will invest in Ogoni soil if you don’t get anything you will get $500 million, it may not come to you as cash but as they continue to do one business or the other you also will do your own business, and you will benefit from it.  Let the President tell us why he has refused to allow UNEP report to be implemented.  There is no reason; because the money is not his, I hope you know”?

“The money is Shell’s.  Just like Shell said they will pay 18 million dollars to Bodo.  If the Federal Government say they won’t sign they won’t pay them.

“In this one all it takes is for President Goodluck Jonathan to sign them go ahead and implement. Gentlemen we would have started implementing by now.  When the President was not implementing I called Shell, and I said of great importance to me as your governor is your life, that is, the life of Ogoni people, Can we give them water?  And Shell agreed.  We started from Eleme, Gokana had water provided by the Rivers State Government”, he said.

In his speech, the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun described Gen. Buhari as a man who represents the very best in the human race and assured the Ogonis of better governance as from May 2015.

“The Ogoni people have put environmental issues long before now, the Ogonis have been betrayed by the federal government but thank God you have finally recognized the powers in your hands.  The fortunate thing is that for the first time you are going to be talking to a man (Buhari) who represents the very best in the human race, a man who is totally incorruptible and a man whose middle name is discipline”, he said.

In his response, General Buhari assured the Ogonis of his determination to fight corruption to a standstill if he wins the presidential election.

He said: “I am extremely impressed with the address presented by Senator Abe. I assure you of social justice, so mobilize your people and make sure your vote counts.  I think we have really come a long way.  I assure you…a lot has been taken from your land and relatively a lot will be given back.  APC government will change the situation,” he promised.
